There’s only ONE Parmigiano-Reggiano. Widely regarded as one of, if not the best cheese in the world, it’s known as the “King of Cheese.” We’re delighted to be able to bring you this cheese from Italy as part of our Lunds & Byerlys private label!
This year we’re honored to celebrate Lunds and Byerly’s 75th anniversary. It’s humbling to know we’ve been an important piece of the fabric of the greater Twin Cities community since 1939, when my grandfather, Russell T. Lund, Sr. opened our first store on Lake Street.
Our sustainable shrimp come exclusively from two sustainable farms audited by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) to achieve Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. This ensures the methods used to produce and harvest the shrimp follow GAA’s strict principles of sustainability – environmental and social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability.
The summer months bring out the best in fresh fruit. With our stores overflowing with sweet, irresistible flavors, it’s hard to ignore these healthy treats. One of my favorite things about summer is taking fresh fruit home every week to savor those distinct juices, which more often than not wind up dripping down my chin.
For those of you shopping our stores on Fridays, you know about the best deli deal of the week: 5 Buck Cluck! We offer our hot, fresh and oh-so-delicious rotisserie chickens for just $4.99. Let me just say it’s extremely popular and an incredible value!
Our soup recipe originated in the early ‘80s in the Byerly’s St. Paul deli. It was produced in small batches and packaged in mason jars. Lunds also made a wild rice soup, albeit a slightly different recipe with both white and wild rice and chicken. A few years after Lunds and Byerly’s merged, we consolidated our wild rice soups and the Byerly’s version became standard in our delis.
